LEISURELY HIKES
Hiking for the whole family
Do you like hiking, but have no interest in storming the summits? Then we would recommend a stroll along the leisurely Marling Waalweg irrigation channel route which, at 12 km, is the longest of its kind in South Tyrol. Or, alternatively, the vibrantly-hued Tappeiner Weg trail, the Sissi trail in Meran, or the car-free hiking area of the Vigiljoch with its picturesque chapel, the Bärenbad Alm mountain pasture or the small Schwarze Lacke Lake – to name but a few.
Our hiking tips
- The Marling Höhenweg high-altitude trail: This moderately difficult 4-to-5-hour hike leads directly out from our hotel and on from farm to farm, and boasts sweeping views over the entire Burggrafenamt.
- Spronser Lakes loop route: This hike takes a good 6 hours, and is suitable for experienced, sure-footed hikers. The crystalline lakes, framed by rounded rocky hillocks, are one of a kind, and are absolutely mesmerising.
- Hirzer Alm pasture loop route: Set off from the mountain station of the Hirzer cable car. This hike takes around 3 to 4 hours, is suitable for families, and boasts magnificent views.
