LEISURELY HIKES

Hiking for the whole family

Do you like hiking, but have no interest in storming the summits? Then we would recommend a stroll along the leisurely Marling Waalweg irrigation channel route which, at 12 km, is the longest of its kind in South Tyrol. Or, alternatively, the vibrantly-hued Tappeiner Weg trail, the Sissi trail in Meran, or the car-free hiking area of the Vigiljoch with its picturesque chapel, the Bärenbad Alm mountain pasture or the small Schwarze Lacke Lake – to name but a few.

SPORTY HIKES

Hikes for experienced hikers

Are you looking for an athletic challenge on your hikes? The Texelgruppe Nature Park, Meran 2000 and the Hirzer hiking areas are the ideal destinations for you. Countless hiking routes await you in these areas, including to the crystalline waters of the nine Spronser Lakes. We also recommend a trip to the world-famed Dolomites with the Seceda, the Plattkofel and the Langkofel.

Our hiking tips

  • The Marling Höhenweg high-altitude trail: This moderately difficult 4-to-5-hour hike leads directly out from our hotel and on from farm to farm, and boasts sweeping views over the entire Burggrafenamt.
  • Spronser Lakes loop route: This hike takes a good 6 hours, and is suitable for experienced, sure-footed hikers. The crystalline lakes, framed by rounded rocky hillocks, are one of a kind, and are absolutely mesmerising.
  • Hirzer Alm pasture loop route: Set off from the mountain station of the Hirzer cable car. This hike takes around 3 to 4 hours, is suitable for families, and boasts magnificent views.
